Our history    The agricoltural process

The owner is directly in charge of both the winery and the vineyards, as well as of the sales. The vineyards have been farmed ever since 1988 according to much stricter environmental compatibility criteria than those prescribed by recent EU regulations, encompassing extensive grass-growing and fewer parasiticidal treatments, using copper sulphate and pit sulphur. These are associated with a decrease by 90% in the general utilization of fertilizers, allocated mainly for the most demanding areas and limited to the use of manure.

Moscato

The largest Chardonnay vineyard is also one of the oldest in all Piedmont, dating back to 1978, when it was planted with Chardonnay Musqué, quite uncommon in this area. The choice to plant non-autochtonous white-berry varieties is justified because of their ability to give well-structured wines with a complex bouquet evolving through the years and thus ensuring a durability unequalled by local varieties. These wines can wonderfully stand vinification; they can be preserved without resorting to sulphur dioxide, aged in oak and left to rest on the lees for 5-6 months. Also in the case of red grapes, only the best-suited varieties were used for each vineyard, based upon its specific soil and microclimate combination.

The farm is endowed with a reception room. Every day, the owner is glad to receive foreign visitors, who wish to taste the 'Armangia' wines.
